GROUND TRANSPORT SHOW FEEDBACK
The NCDA was kindly invited to the inaugural Ground Transport Show at Wembley on 14th September. The intention of the show is to support all aspects of ground transport including taxi, private hire and all aspects of the courier industry. This year was a little taxi oriented as it was the first year, but we have high hopes for better courier representation next year. The NCDA had a stand manned by our Chairman David Brown who was also a panellist on stage to answer questions from the floor.
There were over 900 registrations for the day but due to the Queens sad passing the numbers were a little lower understandably. David had many useful conversations with other suppliers and exhibitors and will report back in due course once further conversations have taken place. One such interesting introduction was with Fair Fuel UK All-Party Parliamentary Group. We look forward to supporting the show next year and hopefully getting some of our members to attend. There is further information on their website www.groundtransportevents.com

NCDA MEMBER SURVEY
The last 2-3 years have been very challenging for all businesses including our members.
The NCDA committee are keen to enhance the support to the membership, but we need your help!
NCDA Committee members will be calling offices over the coming weeks asking for a few moments of your time to complete a short survey.

FUEL FOR THOUGHT: The point of electric charging
Did you know that an electric vehicle’s average annual running costs are 49%, or £1,306, cheaper than petrol and diesel? Along with many other operators, thanks to rising fuel costs, you probably think you should be moving to an electric fleet, on the savings alone, without worrying about saving the planet and reducing the carbon footprint by 2050.
What’s stopping you is probably the unknown costs of charging and how you will keep your business moving when the country doesn’t have the charging infrastructure to deal with demand.
NCDA partner FLEETMAXX SOLUTIONS is eager to help fleet managers get the most out of their EV fleet with their smart charging solutions. Think about it; you could have a charging point or more set up and make some revenue by opening it up to the public and charging your fleet. Or even set up home charging points for your employee – it’s as cheap as paying 22p for a litre of fuel. There are no expenses to claim. They set it up, manage the energy providers and public charging systems and send you one monthly invoice covering your fleet’s costs. Simple.
